An amazing week in Maine - July, 2013

Never too late to share....

July Maine Trip = Best Time Ever!!!

As part of our trip to Maine, Matt and I were so lucky to get away with friends to go river rafting on the Kennebec River.  It was probably one of the most adrenaline pumping times in my life. We went Sunday and again Monday. The flow was almost double on Monday, since they had a special release of water from the dam, making the rapids and holes HUGE. Enjoy the intense amazement on the photos below. Taken from a photographer on shore.

Some additional photos of the group after the rapids, just hanging out and having fun.

Johnny Fontaine Loves........

Oh How I Love Johnny Fontaine

Johnny is a talker - imagine that. He is putting together so many words and starting to repeat a lot of what he hears from us. Here are some of my favorites:
"What is that"
"What is this"
"What happened"
"There's just so many" (typically referring to picking up pine cones)
"Listen"
"That's mine" (one of my least favorite words)
"Go outside"
"Pine cones"
"Johnny did it"
"So Pretty"
"I'm hungry"
"Apple Juice"
"I want down"
"Hungry"
"Ready Set Go"

Sings:
Itsy Bitsy Spider
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
Count: 123 so far
ABCDEFG.....LMNOP (he skips a few right now, but almost has it down and can get to P)

Spanish words he says and understands a lot more:
Mas (More)
Mano (Hand)
Agua (Water)
Leche (Milk)
Hola (Hello)
Adios (Bye)
Manana (Morning)
Bato (Duck)
Gato (Cat)
Perro (Dog)
Zapato (Shoe)

Johnny loves books. The Lorax is one of his favorites right now. He actually goes and gets it and will climb in your lap for you to read it. It's awesome.
He also loves to watch clips from the movie on the tablet.  Maybe you saw his version of it on Facebook. So cute!

Enjoy : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyUFKLGuRjU

Johnny Still Loves Elmo. J will ask to watch recorded clips of Elmo Live and especially the Christmas video.
Enjoy : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aukDpxZEEPU

He loves hockey. Ever since he saw Matt play, he asks about hockey. We all watched the Stanley Cup together and it was really fun. He would yell 'GO' and 'GOAL' and then want to play with his hockey sticks and show he can hit the puck too. One of his favorite hockey videos:

Johnny loves being outside. Anything outside. Playing, running, jumping..... lots of jumping.

Johnny loves to be at a playground. He will go down a big slide all by himself.

Johnny loves to help. They will do trash and recycle every Thursday with Dadda. He helps pick up his toys and still really enjoy the vacuum (which he calls yaya) and sweeping. He waters the plants and has started to pick up pine cones and put them in piles for me to pick up later. Now I'm working on picking weeds, but at times he likes to pick the flowers off. All in all, he's a very good helper.

Johnny loves to dance. He has some awesome moves. He raises the roof and shakes it all the time. One of my favorite things to do with him.

He's amazing everyday. I'm a bit more tired after running around and keeping up with him, but I wouldn't change a thing. Many more adventures to come!

Next post - July visit to Maine.

Coming Up:
1st family camping trip in the N. Cascade Mountains in August

April Visit to Palm Springs

It's never too late to post about a good time....

We went to Palm Springs in late April to visit Nana and Papa and friends. We had tons of pool time, running around in the grass, long walks at the golf course and some golf time. We even had a night out with friends, while Nana and Papa hung out with J. It was a perfect trip!

Until Next Year..... Thank You Palm Springs for another great time!

We took so many photos and videos. I hope what we share, tells the story of a really great visit. We are so lucky to have amazing, supportive and loving families and friends.

Enjoy!

and will still add more... I want to share some sledding videos soon! It's just hard to go through 100's and find all the perfect ones to share.

Johnny's 13 Month Photo Shoot

Sharing our favorite photos from J's 13 month photo shoot (tried to have it be his 12 month, but things got too busy).

If you ask me... they are too perfect! They show how active and fun J is. He is a natural in front of the camera.. when he wants to be. Our photographer Bill from Select Photography is amazing as well.

Johnny Updates Through January 2013

A favorite recent picture from bath time:
Johnny Fontaine, 14 months old

Time is just getting away from us. Sorry for the long delay between posts.

It has been a very busy time with holidays, traveling, sicknesses, house projects and life in general.

Let me give you a brief recap of everything Johnny has been up to.
Johnny is:
  • climbing
  • going up stairs is easy, but still understanding going down without help
  • eating everything
  • running
  • dancing
  • talking
  • signing
  • laughing
  • getting more teeth (total of 7 and 2 molars on bottom)

Johnny had:
  • his first stomach flu a week before thanksgiving
  • the hand, foot and mouth sickness just before Christmas. A fever of 101-102 for 3 days and then he didn't want to eat. Took him to the pediatrician and he let us know he had white sores in his throat and has the mouth part of the common sickness.
  • head cold congestion just before we left for Maine
  • an eye infection (maybe pink eye) and a slight cold when we got home from Maine. Had crusty eyes on the plane and for a couple days when we returned.

Johnny is now saying:

Johnny also loves to:
  • shake your hand and say hola or hello
  • lead you to what he wants (will take your hand and lead you to the snacks, if he is hungry)
  • blow kisses and gives hugs/kisses
  • give cinco (high fives)
And sooo much more. Johnny keeps us very busy and we love it. He is one amazing wonderful, full of life and energy little boy. I wouldn't want it any other way. Just makes for a tired working Mom and Dad!
